http://rubyfortheweb.tumblr.com/ →
Blog following the endeavors of an HTML/CSS front end dev diving into learning Ruby on Rails, and setting a goal for writing his first application in 16 weeks. Brilliant! This same idea has been knocking around in my noggin for just a minute…

I learned a neat photoshop trick!
flobin: It’s really just a quick and dirty trick. By the end you’ll have something that looks a little bit like a line drawing, and would be a good starting point for further editing. Here’s an imgur album of the full-sized screenshots, since they’re super small here. Oh and I used this picture from flickr. This is actually neat.

The Naive Optimist: Hitting 40 employees and going... →
ryanleecarson: We’re just about to hit 40 full-time employees at Treehouse and I’ve noticed that the urge to go “vanilla” is pretty strong. As companies grow they seem to have a natural tendency to move from creative, fun and adventurous cultures to safe, systemitized “vanilla” cultures. They’re safe and… The CEO of Treehouse, a membership site dedicated to teaching web design and...

Even the White House is doing Bootstrap. →
I’m not really excited about this framework. Sure it’s responsive, but it just feels…. repetitious. And those buttons….. they’re not supposed to be for diagrams Mr. White House web developer. Meh.

I love my Mac.
I’m already reminded how good it is to get back to using a Mac. I don’t have much to say other than that. I say this with 5 years of managing at 4-5 PC network at my primary work. It’s been a less than satisfying experience to say the least. There’s some statistic (wish I could find the source) saying the average PC user spends an average of 50 hours a year...

WatchWatch
The evolution of the 404 Page Not Found error page. The most ubiquitous and recognizable error in the history of the internet. Cool, and true… p.s. I love TED talks.

HTML9 Responsive Boilerstrap JS  →
What is a front end developer supposed to do? I was really weary of trying to navigate the frameworks and libraries out there, BUT I think this one nails it.

Closer...
It’s just over two weeks in time, but I’d say about bit less than 2 weeks of days worked on, but my site/portfolio is that. much. closer. Feeling really good, and it’s a rad exercise to quantify theoretical for practical. It’s going to be good to lock this down and launch it. Goal: by the end of this week. I’m scheduled for camping, so it’s going to have to be...

Sixteen Things Calvin and Hobbes Said Better Than... →
amandaonwriting: On life’s constant little limitations Calvin: You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don’t help. On expectations Calvin: Everybody seeks happiness! Not me, though! That’s the difference between me and the rest of the world. Happiness isn’t good enough for me! I demand euphoria! On why we are scared of the dark Calvin: I think night time is dark so...
